WINTER FRONT

Hello,

How many use a winter front and what style do you have.
I have 2016 Platinum and I am leaning towards the chrome insert style.
Not sure if I want the glue on snap style.
Can you remove the glue on snaps without damage to the chrome grill??

Thanks

I have the GoFia winter/summer grill cover for my truck. Used the same style on 1996 F350 with good results. Has the padded solid cover with two openings for winter and the bug screen for summer.

The snaps are attached with 3M double sided tape. The tape adheres good and can be removed if needed. Might need to test any tape residue removal solvent in an area that is not noticeable.

Some of the mesh grilles require you cut out the old grille center to install the mesh. I did see a grille on eBay the other day that is a replacement for the grille with no cutting but the grille is black with the mesh in the center.

I used grille inserts to block off the air flow, mind you the platinum grille is different and slotted also, put plastic on the inside of the grille to stop flow through the holes.

Can you post pictures of the slots? That may also be good for adding a bug screen during the summer.

What is the thing behind your license plate?

I have had the fia one for 5 years, works good for me. I like being able to open the flaps to get some more air when the temps come up a bit. Had to do that this weekend

Imo they all look ugly.

I use a chunk of cardboard painted black and drop it down in right behind the first radiator.

Effective inexpensive at it works without looking like garbage.

I'll get a few pics tomorrow, great thing about the inserts, no rocks mangling the cooling fins. A normal thing to happen here in the winter months with all the sand and gravel dumped on the highways.
