94 460 3G alternator

I'm trying to figure out which 130 amp 3G alternators will fit in my bracket. I've been researching it but not much on efi trucks

Looking up the stock application shows a 95A alternator in common with the 3.0l Aerostar.

This tells me 7" C-C mounting and that the 1993 3.0 Sable/Taurus would be the 130A version (but may need clocking)

The 130 amp alternator (generator) is stock on the 1994 460 with the F53 chassis.
I know I have one.
Just buy one for the 1994 F53.
Rockauto PURE ENERGY 15888N 130 amp alt.

Pat,
Didn't your '94 truck come w/ a 95A 3G to start with???

I thought the 1G & 2G alternators were gone by then.

Nope. 2G, as seen in the top photo. I had to get the 3G harness off of a 351 truck.

You can modify the 2G regulator pigtail and add a simple fused charge cable.

After all the hassles with my 2G I don't wish one of those on anybody.

The one from rock auto 15888N is the wrong one for my truck. The mounting holes are about 8 1/2 inches mine is about 7 inches. I'll have to return that one. Any other suggestions?

7" c-c 130A is an application for a 1993 3.0l Taurus/Sable

I posted a link above.
Second, I can never remember what displacement is the correct one, so I just go for the pushrod motor. Be warned, the alt is clocked differently. You can take it apart and rotate it, but as it comes the wiring will be at the bottom of the alt once it's installed.

3.0l is 7"
3.8l is 8.25"
1993 seems to be the year for both.
I have a 3.8 alternator in my V-belt truck.

Be careful when clocking..
You only want to crack the case far enough to clear the locating tabs.

No one is seeing your spam posts buddy.
Goodbye!

1G's were around in diesels quite late.
2G's problems were finally addressed by Ford's TSB 96214 (Feb 14th 1996)
So it was still an issue at that date.
