I'm planning to buy a new Lariat this summer. I am on the fence as to whether I want to go with the fixed running boards again, or upgrade to the ones that are retractable.
What's the attraction with the retractable ones? Do they save more room or something? I don't understand...

The reason I am looking at them is because they aren't sticking out from the side of the truck when they aren't being used. Just considering them for my next truck. Not sure how those who have them on their trucks like them.

I LOVE my retractable running boards! Wouldn't want to have fixed one. The truck looks so much better, IMHO, w/o running boards sticking out all the time.

A friend of mine has the power steps. They drop lower than the fixed step and have a wider step area. Especially nice if you have a short wife or kids.

Running boards for a truck are akin to a foot step on a horse saddle, pretty much...

Just bought a 2015 Lariat. I had a 2012 Lariat previously. 3.5 EB in both but this one feels even faster! I am 99% satisfied with the 2015 and will be 100% if the doors would stop opening when I think they are locked. I would have never gotten as good a deal ordering a 2016 and I can't think of any option I would like that is not on my new truck. Very happy!!

I have had my 2016 for 1 month. Love the truck so far. I am not much of a gadget guy and special ordered the 5.0 301a with a few extras. I did get the tailgate step and the box lights along with the 20 inch rims. I like the LED lights but mine does not have them. I agree with others that the upgrade was not worth it for me. I guess the only ones that really see these lights are the other drivers.

I total am happy with my selection of my 2015 F150. I should have picked it up earlier, but i'm real happy with my selection. My Truck has performed flawlessly and is a joy to drive.

A little over three months (~2,800 miles) in and we love our '15 Lariat SuperCrew!!

If it were totaled today, the ONLY thing I would do differently is get the 5.5' bed vs the 6.5' bed. At the time we bought (mid-October), there were not many choices of wheelbase vs options such as 502A and color (Ruby Red) so we gladly went with this one. We don't haul a lot, so the extra room is turning out to be rather unnecessary. And, I'm finding that navigating parking lots here in the city where the planners basically hate all vehicles (other than buses and hybrids) can be a bit of a challenge sometimes!!

And so far, it looks like we have a perfect one!! No issues at all.

Cheers!!

Ken

Well, my truck was in for service and I was bored. So, I had to scratch an itch and the KR was sitting out front pretty as a St. Paulie girl so I asked for the keys. I liked it but I'm still not in love with the exterior styling.

Additionally we drove a 2016 Mustang GT 5.0L. Since I already have a great truck, wanna guess which one I really wanted to take home?
