Cracked Front End Part

I was just in the middle of doing the V Code leaf spring swap and noticed a broke part where the u-bolts sit and what looks to be attached to the trac bar. The piece is broken in half and I am not sure how this happened or when. Looking for advice on how to repair. The piece is welded to the axle.

First off, how about giving some info about your truck. Year, model and anything else you think might help someone give assistance on resolving your problem.

that's not good. do you have larger tires on or do a lot of offroading? The stress of either of these could have caused the failure. I would get that fixed ASAP, looks like you'll have to cut the old bracket off and weld a new one on. A good weld shop might also be able to fix the existing bracket and reinforce it.

I'm guessing since it has leafs it an '04 or older.

My apologies, should have included that in initial post.

No, running 275/70/18 tires and have not had the truck off-road. I have only owned it for 1 year. Either it was broken when I bought it or the only thing I can think of is when my wife was driving, she hit a curb going pretty fast. Didn't notice any major handling difference after she hit it.

It does appear that it has been cracked for a while, not recent at all.

I'd definitely take that to a welding shop for evaluation, I bet that can be repaired.
