New to electrical - backup light, LED addition
Considering adding two of these so they come on when I put in R. I am hoping to just hook into the hot wire when I throw her in R....
NOT looking to add a switch or anything.
Do I need to add a fuse? Two fuses? Figure I would connect one light to each side/light.
If a fuse is needed, just use this?
Again, pretty much avoid electrical work in general.

Normally if you add lights to the reverse circuit, you need to add a relay and another circuit to take the load off the back-up switch. But these lights you want to add only draw a tiny bit over 1 amp each, so that would be a little bit over 2 amps total, so that should not overload the switch or shorten it's life.
Be careful if you add anything else to this circuit. I would not add a fuse, just let the original fuse for the circuit up front protect your new wiring.
P.S. If you wanted to lighten the load on the circuit, you could replace your factory reverse bulbs with LED and give you that much more headroom on the original circuit.
