Question Is the 2006 F250 whip antenna amplified??

Installed a new headunit and trying to figure out if I need to hook-up the 'power antenna' lead from the headunit. I simply hooked up the antenna itself but not the 'power antenna' wire that comes out of my aftermarket HU.

I ask because my HD radio reception is spotty and was wondering if I need to hook the 'power antenna' wire from the HU to the truck somewhere?

Thanks

Not sure what you're working on or with buy typically a "power antenna" wire is to power an antenna that extends and retracts relative to the HU's on/off condition.

If FM reception is spotty re-read your owners manual set up guide making sure you've configured the radio reception to better conform with your local area.
