A few years back, I had the opportunity to ride with Kerry Peterson, once considered one of the top 50 riders of all time. He was a many time national champ in hill climb.

We had a chance to ride at his place out in Lucerne Valley and this guy, then about 55, in top shape still, made hill climbing look so easy.

He also had a Malcolm Smith trophy truck and took me for a spin. No biggie. As an exdesert racer, I was use to going fast.

However, driving thru his course, down a dirt road at 105 mph with many whoops, and a 150' plus jump, I thought I was gonna die. He reassured me later that he's driven down that road before at 111mph with one of the best, Robbie Gordon, Kerry driving of coarse!

I later asked him what gets him fired up. He said riding an 800 hp nitro bike up an 800' hill climb in about 8 secs is as good as it gets!
