New in Nebraska

Hello,
I'm new to the forum but not new to old cars or busted knuckles. I recently joined FTE after finding my next project. I have been wanting a pick up again for some time and after discussing it with my wife she told me that if i wanted one i would have one. After talking to a friend who was talking to a friend i am the soon to be owner of a 76 F250 Camper Special Ranger. The derelict beast has been in hibernation for about 7 years. It has a 460 and c-6, no A/C, FACTORY OPTIONED camper shell, and the not so popular "standard" rust. It is a one owner Nebraska native. It is a good start for the truck i want.
After a drive-by showing to Ruth, my wife, she said "If that's what you want then get it. I don't like that front grill thingy." A deal was worked out and after i get some room made, and a couple payments it will be coming home.

The Deal.
Remember the friend that was talking to a friend? Well Mike (my friend) was talking to Lucky (his friend) about trying to find a spare engine and tranny for his Ford motorhome. Lucky mentioned this truck and Mike had an idea. Now I don't like big blocks. I have no need for a big block. A deal was struck. We would split the $500 price tag. I keep the 460 and C-6 in the truck and use as normal until i get my desired set up ready to go in. Mike helps with the swap and then keeps big block for his camper.

The plan.
Like mentioned before i dont care for the big block. My plan is to build a 351W backed by a built AOD. I had chosen this combo then realized after a little research that its the same basic package in the first generation Lightning. With that as my model I started looking and talking. I have a line on a couple 351's, possibly a set of NOS GT40 heads and lot of info. I used to work at a Ford dealer many years ago and have a Assoc. Degree in auto and diesel mechanics. I did an EFI conversions on the 67 Mustang I had many years ago so doing this truck will be easy.

Many of my photos are too large to attach so i created a gallery.
