I assume this has nothing at all to do with the degas and cooling system building pressure?

If so, I would most likely go ahead and send the ficm out but if not, I suspect it's goodbye.

I suppose I could go ahead and spend the $225 and go ahead and get that done since it is probably my fault for not fixing that sunroof leak sooner but then again I just got the truck, Anyhow, as long as I don't stand the chance of them telling me it's toast or something like that and need an additional $500 or something, I suppose I can get that done. So, I suppose I'll be removing that FICM as soon as the rain stops.

Well, I have it out.
I have another question now. Why should I send it out and get it repaired for $225 and take the chance it's toast when I can buy a already flashed remanufactured ficm from rockauto for $222?

Why can't I just replace the circuit board myself with a R76001 from rockauto for $112?
Isn't that what is bad on it?

I've learned that from this video,
Which led me to their site and from what they are saying, I only need the FICM Power Board.
I want to take a chance and keep my core and just install this R76001 TechSmart board for $112.

Thats not always the case with the FICM, there could be damage to the logic side of the board too. Ed has the equipment to test it and it is run on a test vehicle for performance. While it's there get the Atlas 40 tune and you'll be lovin' that truck

I am selling the truck as soon as I get the smoking to go away. It needs head gaskets and I am not doing that job. What the hell, I already have it apart, the board is in my cart and I have my credit card info in and was ready to check out. It will be here Tuesday. I upgraded to 2 day shipping for an extra $5, total $124.78, what the hell I'll give it a shot. If it is still bad, then I'll send it in.

Well did the vid say the FICM was already flashed ? If yours is not then $$ for flash , Ed would have sent one out already done gone through ready to install, listion for the last time double check your charging system battery's up to full charge , bench test your alternator or get at least a 140 amp to replace the 110 amp stock ( BEFORE YOU INSTALL your FICM) your Injectors may be Compramised by the ailing ficm BUT don't get to Excited just yet with a new / redone ficm maybe you'll get lucky. Oh and your right it don't have anything to do with high degus pressure , multiple things going on as I see it . With a few more Coins mainly gold ones you may end up with a great truck , one step at a time.

Where are you located? You never know, someone here might take that thing off your hands for what you have invested in it and the cost of a HG R and R.

Or know someone who will pay fair market value for it's present condition.
We might even start a GoFundMe on your behalf.
