Guys...I'm sad.
Last night I was on youtube and started watching some videos of IDI trucks...then I went on my computer and found a couple videos of my truck and was looking at some pictures and it made me depressed.
3 years ago I had to sell my truck because I was laid off, and got a new job with a 45 minute commute. At the time diesel was over $4 a gallon and it just was not feasible to drive my truck back and forth (I only needed it for winter at the time, but at 13 mpg it would have cost something like $20 a day to drive back and forth).
I was truckless until this year when I got the Ranger I have, which I've done some things to and it's a nice truck but it's just not the same. I miss hearing my IDI clatter to life in the morning, shifting through the gears on the 5 speed, listening to the turbo sing.
In all likelihood I will never find another truck like this...trucks this age are usually junky rusty heaps by now, and in all honesty mine was probably not too far from needing body work (I had already fixed the rear fender arches, the frame mounts on the core support were pretty much gone, and who knows what else might have been next). I see the rare IDI around here but it's pretty infrequent.
I never really missed any other vehicle I sold all that much but I really miss this thing. Sigh...
I would have put some emoticons in this but none of them are working for some reason.

Friend, it is not too late to get a good truck, they are still out there. I had to fly to get one to the US as I am from Europe. Got it here to the tune of 10 grand after all the fees, duty, import tax, transport and other crap. The decent ones for some reason show up in Oregon, Washington. Mine is 1986 and it is 100 rust free.

Imagine how hard it was to get a truck for me, to the Europe. Tried over a year by myself calling to the adds on craiglist. It always went like this: Oh hi, I would like to buy your truck, but I need to ship it to Europe. The other side went like, Screw u fcking ******* beep, beep, beep. So I started posting here, and at first even guys here thought I am an ******* from Europe just anoying. It took time to make friends here, but I can honestly say now I have friends here, real friends. My phone is full of messages in English, more than czech messages. They were searching all over the west coast for my dream truck. Paid deposits so the truck would be there upon my arival. Spent time looking at different trucks in their area. Those are real friends, I send more Christmas gifts to the US than I buy for my family.
Took me 3 years to save the money, and everybody here thinks I am just an idiot. I do not care, driving it around is pure joy for me, I always dreamed of having US car since I was a boy.
Do whatever you want to do and dont look what others think, you want a truck? Go for it! It only matters what makes u happy at the end of the day.

I feel your pain, I miss driving my 1994 and 1991. My 1991 ended up in the scrap yard and parts were used for my 1994, Im still trying to figure out the two no named brand different length injectors that were in it. And 1994 has being in pieces for two years this summer. You can come for a ride in my 73 international, its gets a whopping 6-8 mpgs wide open or cruising, but it will run on anything dam near.
