I see "Boss" in a couple things via google search. Ford is just saying "6.2".

IMO "Boss" would be a poor choice--a replacement for "Hurricane" if you can believe the wiki link. EVERYONE knows (or should know) the "Boss" as a 302 or 429 from '69-'70. Reusing the name is for poop, like when they put "Cobra" badges on stripper Fairlanes with big motors.

Besides, the Super Duty (another recycled name) 6.2 is down on power vs. the Raptor 6.2.

 

Interesting, boss does sound a lot better than hurricane.

 

The Boss name might refer to the canted valve arraignment. I just call it an oddball (in a good way).
