73 F100 DUI Installation

I have searched but not found thread/info specifically on 73 F100.....Replacing stock 302 distributor and coil with DUI. Been reading a few threads that on some models there is a resistor in the stock wiring going to the coil which would make connecting the stock coil wire to the DUI an no-go (aside from not being 12 ga.). Anyone know if this true for 73 302 configuration? Has anyone installed DUI with a separate relay using the stock coil wire as the switched power source?

Thanks!

That fact is true for all Fords with 12v systems except the TFI systems. The TFI systems don't have the resistor, but their wire is not large enough.
