Help please with a door/window/ignition problem

I am having an issue with my 2007 KRanch drivers door. The windows do not work when the door is closed or FULLY opened, only when the door is halfway closed or open. It also does not chime when the keys are in the ignition unless the door is also halfway closed or open. Apparently the "trigger" that switches things on and off with the door is off or it is a wiring issue ? I tried jiggling the harness at the door hing and it does work properly when I jiggle it at times. I replaced the door window switch with no luck. Could more than 1 wire be broken in the harness ?? Would the whole thing need to be replaced and how hard is that to do ??

Thanks

I would recommend taking a good look at the harness connections in the door jam. I had problems with my drivers door speaker. After replacing the speakers I found that the plug was not seated properly. This could be similar for your situation.

Thanks, when I remove the boot on the door there is a "tube" that the wires pass through but I do not see a plug - do I need to cut (carefully I assume) the tube open ??

I am referring to the whole plug as shown in the picture. My advice is not to cut the tube unless absolutely necessary.

i second the recommendation to check the door jams.
i've had the exact same issue.
i've replace all the door window and lock switches and still had issues.
only after i check for broken wires in the door jam boots did we fix the problem.

Thanks, you don't have the tube the wires pass through or did you cut it out ?
