The truck in my sig. makes a clicking noise when it's in park and I press the brake pedal down. The click is coming from somewhere up high in the steering column. It doesn't make the click noise in any other gear only in park. Might be normal but I don't remember hearing it before??
could it be the shift interlock failing [depending on how Ford did it, maybe there is a solenoid that switches in your column that prevents you from shifting out of park unless you press the brake pedal]?

Hi don123,
Since you're concerned, it wouldn't hurt to mention this noise to your dealer. I'm sure finding out if it's normal or not will give you some peace of mind. How many miles are on your truck?
Went to the dealer this morning. They assured me that this is completely normal. They let me try the brakes on a new truck and it makes the same noise. Thanks for the replies!

Sure thing, Don; I'm glad to hear that your dealership cleared this up for you.
