Fan Belt

Does anyone know how long or how hard it is to change fanbelt?
Mines separating and slapping on stuff.

There are a couple of you tube videos on it, I just did mine, took about 2 hours but I was just screwing around,(could have been done faster). I took off the top fan guard and did it from the top, search for the video, easy to do.

How many miles on your truck?? I'd say you wore out your serpentine belt.

Not that bad of a job....remove top half of fan shroud and go nuts....also check pulleys and tensioners for wear/alignment while in there.

I would be replacing the belt tensioner. These engines EAT belt tensioners, which is likely what's causing your belt issue. And in answer to your question regarding how difficult it is to change, the tensioner requires use of only a 15mm wrench for cranking it loose and final tightening, and a short stubby 15mm Gearwrench for spinning the bolt out/in. And it can be done without removing the upper shroud too.

Is this on a 6.7 or 6.4? Those two are much different engines with ZERO similarity between the accessory belt drive systems.
