Joe, I got the gasket kit and seal from Chucks trucks. Whats corn head grease?
Many of the folks over on the Barn recommend it for use in a leaky steering box. Evidently it flows well enough to lube the parts but is thick enough not to leak past a marginal seal.

Looks like my local JD dealer carries it so ill give it a try. Kinda changed gears to do some prep on the body, I may have found a painter that has done some work here for Jessie James. The current shop he works at just sold out and will no longer be doing custom work so he is between jobs. He said he can get to my cab and hood next week. ($6K dang that's a lot of tacos but same that others have bid) Still looking at one more shop here Martin Brothers Customs. Maybe out of my price range but we ill see (the painter actually has an interview with them next week)

Anyways I have one door stripped down and want to see about fixing the hinge on the bottoms. Seems that these are common to sag on these trucks. Looks like the hinge is just bent forward from the doors swinging open with out the stops holding them, I straightened the bottom one which will not come attached from the door without cutting door skins to get to the back.
My question is the sheet metal around this hinge, it is/looks factory made lip around them. Is this correct or is it from the hinge bending it back? It is rolled up on all three sides. Anyone have a detailed picture of their door panel in this location?

The top hinges do not have this around the door panel.

I'll take a look at my doors tomorrow and report back. I know the upper hinge on my driver side door is getting a little loose. Wish that had been addressed prior to the paint job.
