The stock heater valve on my wife's '54 was welded together with rust.
So I searched the net for one that had the same 90 degree inlet/outlet.
I found that the Four Season P/N 74637 might just work.
I ordered the valve from RockAuto for about $30.
I had make a bracket for the valve and one for the stock cable..........

Way to be innovative. I too had been digging for one to get my 53 heat operational again. After much looking, I elected to out the manual and cable for vintage airs electric valve. In turn it cleaned up all that looping because you get to go straight in and straight out of the core.
Not sure i understand the complexity. I just used a simple inline valve to open/close one heater hose on my 53. It seems to work fine. What am I missing?

I wanted to keep the stock cable in it's position and the heater core inlet was not inline with the cable.
