How do I find proper Ford part numbers?
I'm new to wrenching on Fords, and I want a throttle body gasket for my 2003 Escape 2.0L manual (UK model, actually called the Maverick over here). I can look that up in the official online Ford catalog using my VIN, but the part number given in the catalog is 9E936, and that seems to be a general category descriptor code for throttle body gaskets.
Are there any online resources that will find the full specific part number for the throttle body gasket for my application - the one that's something like XXXX-9E936-XXX?
This is a real pain compared to working on Jeeps - the parts catalogs are widely available as PDFs and when you look up a part, you find the exact part number you need straight off.

Odd as it may seem, eBay is a great reference for current Ford part numbers. Ford updates part numbers periodically thus rendering printed parts catalogs obsolete. You can still use the old numbers to acquire the current numbers. I was a Parts Tech/Mgr for 30+ years so the eBay resource is unusual but a lot of dealerships sell there.
