Recommendations for a Clutch Kit for '78 Ford F150 with a manual 3 speed/OD

I had bought a perfection clutch for my truck and it has given me problems. It was the only clutch kit I could find at any auto parts store here in Austin,Texas.

I decided to try summit racing but they also offer that clutch kit as well as another clutch kit from Ram clutches that they wont have until 3 weeks from now.

So I found various clutches at RockAuto with brands Exedy, Sachs, M-Pact, Valeo and I also found a specific clutch at Jeff's Bronco Graveyard.

My question is what do you guys recommend as a quality clutch kit. I certainly do not want a remanufactured one. My truck is a '78 Ford F150 with a manual transmission on the floor. It's a 3speed with Overdrive. It's a toploader transmission. The engine is a 302. Any recommendations would help.

thanks,

I got my LUK clutch from Rock Auto about a month back for my M5OD tranny... Haven't put the tranny in yet, so can't comment on it's reliability, but I've hear they're good. Plus, it was only $80 Canadian! The cheapest clutch I could find in Canada was from Canadian tire and was $220 CAD! Big savings for me

I noticed you said Luk had a good reputation. Are they not good clutches anymore?
