DTCS codes P1211, P0603, P1280

Hi all. My 2004 F250 is running a bit rough at times. Not continuously, it s3ems to mainly be at idle. Put the Superchips reader on and the following codes were up. P1211, P0603 and P1280. After clearing P1280 is still up. As an FYI i had no problems but then had the truck parked for about 6 months. It was being run intermittently but not often. Thoughts?

G'day.
Firstly, I'm no expert, there are wiser members on here,
but I suspect you Injection Pressure Regulator has developed
a fault.
Unfortunatley these things are an expensive part.
There are rebuilt units available that are a bit cheaper
but I know nothing about them.

Hopefully someone else with chime in with more info for you.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

First thing you should do if you can is clear codes and re-check them with a PSD capable scanner, this should head you in the right direction.
Easy test,
Check the ICP sensor, you can pull the harness from the icp sensor and test drive the truck it will go to a default setting of 725 psi , remember this is only a test to see if the icp sensor is faulty .
Also check to see if oil is weeping out of the icp sensor and or the harness that you remove from the sensor.
If this is your problem you can get a new sensor from here , Injection Control Pressure ICP Sensor 97-03

Thanks for the info Gents. My bluetooth OBD2 reader turned up today. Using FORSCAN app the ICP data jumps around between 400 and 800 psi at idle. Disconnecting the sensor and it hovered between 650 and 750 for a bit but then dropped to 400/500 range.

My understanding this means the ICP sensor is ok? Any thoughts on next step if this is the case?

Wow 400 to 800 psi she does jump about .
Did you have a CEL come on ?
Did you check for oil coming out of the ICP sensor and or the harness connecting it?
Check the harness for oil and any chafe mark's, the fluctuation you have in your readings is not the norm.
I'ts very possible ICP sensor is bad internally, this would give you that P1280 code , P1211 can be caused by 1280 code.

Yeah CEL is on almost constantly. No oil in sensor and harness looks good. With the sensor connected again it is staying down in the low range. Might grab a sensor I think and see how that goes.

How many miles /Klms is on your truck?

Have you still got the original mushroom shaped based ICP in the head ?
They are know to fail.
It always pays to carry a spare IPR/ICP and a CPS with you when you own a 7.3 F-Series .

Has 241,000km. It looks like the original to me. I have run into the CMS issue already and have a spare one now.

Did you mean CPS ? yes that's most common.
You could check the tin nut on the IPR sensor at the back of the HP oil pump, the O-ring on the IPR could be causing the P1211 .
Have you got good fuel pressure, 45-65 psi?

Sorry CPS, bloody auto correct. I'll have a look at the nut and fuel pressure tomorrow and see what I discover.
