Shopping for flathead v8 rebuild parts

Looks like speedway motors has the best deals all around. Anyone have any better experiences? I need rings and rod bearings and overhaul gasket set. Thanks in advance.

I bought my parts from NAPA. Sealed power rings and bearings, and Felpro gaskets and seals.

I didn't pay that much attention to the price. They were doing all the checking and machine work, so I just bought the parts there.

Gasket set -- O'Reilly's has them for $62, shipped to the store near you for free. FelPro FS-7525-B

I got my pistons, rings, and bearings thru the machine shop for very good prices. Michigan or Clevite bearings, Hastings rings. As long as you stick with brand names, eBay can have some good deals. I won't buy gasket sets on there, too much chance they aren't fresh stock.

Speedway has a tendency to offshore as much as possible, I avoid them.

I'd be cautious ordering pistons from them. Otherwise fine.

I'm definitely going with the fel pro from O Reillys. Is there any problem with Hastings piston rings, Van Pelt has them for $69, rod bearings are still up in the air. summit lists them for $141Thanks to all for their input.

Hastings are my preference for any engine, I have them in my truck's engine now. Sealed Power is OK for the rod bearings. I prefer Clevite.

Did you pull the crank sludge trap plugs and clean out the traps?

Pulling the trap plugs is next on my list, who carries replacements?

Red's Headers should have the plugs. You might check with them for bearings too, I think that's where I got mine.....CRS
