All you need if you want sat is a tuner(svx300). You may need an antenna adapter. The one that came with mine I could not figure how to make it work so I went down to the local car audio shop and bought a new one. Other than that, all PNP.

who makes the maps for the GPS?
igo is the nav software and maps can be updated at naviextras.com. I am not sure who actually makes the maps but so far I am impressed. I use the maps to find streets while
I am driving and it is very detailed with names and poi.
If it makes you feel any better I didn't get one after all. My wife checked her e-mail (she placed the order) and was notified they were out of stock and the order was cancelled. That tells me they don't plan to restock any time soon.
