Jag IFS question

I am in the process of gathering stuff for my build. On my list is a Jag IFS series II or III. What should I expect to pay for one? I have been watching Craislist and see the whole car out there on occasion. Got a quote from an online used parts place for $825 if they ship to a commercial address. So, what should I expect to pay?

Well, I am still looking around for a complete parts Jag. I have found a XJ6 but it is an 1987. From what I have read they say to stick between 79-86. Anyone know what would be different on an 87?

87 is a crossover year. If it is the same body style as the 86 and down it will work. You want this style

Thanks guys. The one I am looking at is called a 1987 Jaguar Vanden Plas. From what I have been able to find out, it is an XJ6. 4 head lights, 4 doors, and looks very similar to Dave's pic.

One question I have about using the Jag is about the steering rack. Obviously you will be using the Jag one which is probably powered. Does that not cause a problem if you are connecting to a Ford pump and pulley in terms of the assistance it gives? Or will you be using a Jag unit for that too?

If I get the whole parts car. I plan to use the Jag Power Steering pump also.

I've read somewhere that is the best option.

I had more or less decided to go with the same set-up but I'm having trouble finding second hand Jag stuff at a reasonable price in the UK too. There are plenty of XJ40s around but not many of the Series XJs. I've given up asking salvage yards what they have in stock. One jag is the same as the next as far as they are concerned.

The Jag PS pump is a Saginaw, used for many years at GM. IIRC the ford PS pump pressures are a bit lower than the GM and Jag.
