Horn spring for a '65

I dont have a horn spring for my stock wheel/horn-ring setup. I tried substitutes and none had the right tension and would "beep" on bumps etc. How do I source the correct one?

Carpenter (800-476-9653) has it listed under the C0DZ-13A807-B Ford part number.

Other sources:

NOS PARTS LTD has 15 = 972-937-2201.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS has 41 = 606-787-5293.

GREEN SALES CO. has 362 = 800-543-4959.

I bought the spring from DC. It looks like it was made from a Chinese coat hanger and probably was. My advice is find a used Ford one.

Thanks for the great info guys! It looks like the OEM is better than the repro so I will source that first.

Call these sources, ask if genuine Ford or repro's.

I checked a few of these places out and Wesleys is out of business now. One company wanted over 10 bucks shipping (WTH) so I resorted to fleabay for a NOS piece. We shall see shortly. Sure will enjoy having it working finally.

Thanks all for your help.

I have been getting a good amount of stuff from this place Obsolete Classic Auto Parts. Below is a link I just copied of the horn section of there online catalog:

https://www.classicautopartsonlineca...kCode=fpu13flx

I have had an issue with my horn but didn't want to go pulling on that chrome button without knowing what I was getting into. Mini is not consistent, the horn blows but not clearly. I might have to look into getting another spring or contact.

Good luck,
Anthony

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS has sold out, as has PARTS INTERNATIONAL aka NOS PARTS WAREHOUSE.

Be aware that the horn RING spring is different than the horn BUTTON spring.
