Welcome to Oregon... even if it's a few weeks early.

What part of Oregon are you moving to?

Have a safe trip and just a note Oregon is not as conservative as Texas.

I was over at the VA Outreach Center and Costco in Salem on Wednesday.
They sure let the nuts out of the squirrel cage! For a few minutes I got confused and thought I was in downtown Portland!

Unfortunately, I work in downtown Portland. Trust me, the two cannot be confused!

I'm going to be living in La Pine, thank y'all for the warm welcome. Its definitely going to take a lot of adjustments but its going to be a permanent move. I'm going to be flying in to Redmond then coming back to Texas in the spring to pick up my truck and things. If ol girl was running and not in the middle of a 351 swap I would drive her up lol

East side won't be too bad of a change for you then. Quite a bit more conservative east of the Cascades (pronounced more like Texas) and as it is high desert country, it is a lot drier and warm in the summer over there too (also more like home to you). Probably a bit colder in the winter than you are used to, but beautiful country when it snows. I have considered the move myself a time or two.

Lapine is about an hour and a half away from me. It's amazing how many homes they have scattered amongst the jackpines. Really a pretty place. Probably snowing there today.
Good to have you here.

Well, there is Bend and all the Kalifornicators to put up with just North of La Pine.....

Hmmmmm, perhaps I should have asked Wayne if he was 90 minutes north or south of La Pine before I comment too much on that.....

I'm north east of Lapine.......In Prineville....and Jim, you are spot on with your description of Bend.......all the yuppies have ruined what was once a nice place.
Just my opinion, of course.

An opinion shared by everyone that I know. Friends in Sisters and Camp Sherman, Cousin in Redmond, Cousin in La Pine, friends in Madras and the former (long time retired) Chief of Police in Prineville was a friend and was also my rookie year training Officer at the Cop Shop....
