What were the conditions you were testing in? We're you driving the truck to get it up to temp or idling it? You may not build enough heat at idle in cold ambient temps. Do you still have your old 203 stat? You can boil it to test it..

Are you sure that you drove long and hard enough to get the new one to open?

Through experience and hearsay, I have seen the parts store ones bad out of the box, both ways. They are either stuck open, or the bad one, don't open well enough.

Man... If its not "overheating" from not opening than I'd suspect a bad stat thats partially open or stuck open.. Course, some experts will come along and debunk my theory..

Ok so after an hour of driveing I came home heat is warm but not as hot as it was.....pulled the napa 195 heated up some water and it is opening at 190... so 13 degrees colder might play a big role in my problem
