....1936 Ford 3-window has long since been one of my favorites. This is what $150. bought me in 1993. Missing a lot of pieces. Sitting on a newer frame. Had no time or money at the time to build it so I hid it away for a while. Now I am slowly working away at it . It will become a highway friendly car...

In 1966, just after graduating high school, I took a job as an apprentice mechanic at a local Ford dealership. Some of the mechanics kind of took pity on me because I was driving my parents car to work. One day, one of them asked me if I wanted my own car. I told him would like to own a car but didn't have the money. He said he had the perfect car for me and invited me to his own shop, just out of town. As I pulled in to his property, I saw a bright orange Ford 3 window coupe in the drive. Since he was a stock car racer, I just assumed it was his current race or, or his next project. I was wrong and $400 dollars later I drove my, new to me, 1935 3 window coupe home. I drove that car everyday for more than a year before the lure of a motorcycle struck. That and the fact that my girlfriend hated the car.
Yeah, I know where it is and yeah I'd love to have it back.

this is my other "toy" 1973 Triumph Stag. Only about 2500 imported into the US from 71 -73. Cost me $500, of course the original 3.0 liter V8 was in bad shape and needed a lot of body work and paint but its on the road and a lot of fun to drive.

Hey Dennis,
That's a beautiful Triumph. Never see one of those driving around Texas - very unique - I love it. My wife would ride in that!

My 1989 BMW E30 WAS A $300 basket case when I got it is 2004. I did everything but spray it. It has changed for the better since this old picture, but I'm better at cars than computers so I cant make it appear.
