thanks pop! will see what happens.
oil cooler o rings went bad and puked a gallon of oil on the ground here at the house one morning Nov 30th (they have been seeping lately). ordered the rebuild kit and post man lost the box for a week. also since i have to drain the cooling system, now is the best time ever for a coolant flush and replace the Leakey radiator and preventive maintenance on the water pump, belt, all hoses. since i have no idea when they were done last and ive put a 100k on it myself, its due. since all this cost lots of money, im ordering a little bit of parts each week to spread the cost out just a tad.

If it's not all sorted out by the first of the year, you're welcome in my truck any time.
Heck, maybe I'll have you drive!

So I made a run to Home Depot for some 2x4's and 1x6's for my kitchen project, and grabbed 2 twin packs of 8' fluorescent tubes too. Put it all in my truck, hanging out through the vee gate like I often do. It's only a half mile home and stuff has always ridden good if I take it slow.
Got home and half my 1x6's and 1 of the twin packs is missing! So I debate for a few seconds whether I should even go look for the stuff. But figure I should at least get the fluorescent shards off the the street.
Found it all right in the middle of the only large intersection between HD and home. Watched a few cars run over my lumber, but nobody hit the tubes, and incredibly they were not even broken. I guess they rode the lumber like a sled nice and easy right out on the street. I hit the hazard lights, ran a traffic break and parked right in the middle of the intersection, jumped out and retrieved my stuff. Nice tread marks on my lumber, but no harm done. I do some dumb things sometimes.

That's amazing Bill. Closest I've come is leaving tools on the bumper and finding them still there a weekend later - just hangin' out.

Easy to remove when pulling that 5h wheel.

I actually have an insert that fills the vee in the gate. Doesn't work sitting at home
I was very impressed with the 1x6 rack at HD. It had just been restocked and no one had picked through it yet, and all the sticks were really nice stuff. Straight, tight knots, and really slick from being fresh off the planer. Of course, that was before they laid in the street for 10 minutes. Now they look like what the HD rack normally does.

This was for various blocking inside cabinets, so none of it will be seen once the countertops are in place.
But more importantly, I made sure all the road grit was gone from the lumber before running it through my table saw. That's not so good for expensive carbide.
