No O2 Sensor?

So I got a 1993 F150 with the 5.8 for trade for another truck I have that's needed a tranny rebuild (old 89 F350 with the idi) and I have been getting it all ready to go. It has the engine out of a 1990 in it that was rebuilt. After I drive for a little bit the check engine light comes on. From what I understand as far as code reading on these a KOEO code read right bank running rich O2 sensor or something like that code 172. So I went to look for the sensor on the passenger side exhaust and there isn't one on it. It has aftermarket headers on it and I found a plug down on the Fram that is left not plugged into anything. Do I need to weld a bung onto the collector or somewhere and mount an o2 sensor or should I be fine? Also is there supposed to be one on each side?

Sorry for the wall of text. Thanks for any help.

Yes you need an O2 sensor. There is only one so common practice is to put it in the passenger side collector.

The generic code list gives different error codes for right and left side O2 sensors, but often there is only one. So yes, add a bung to the passenger side.

Perfect right where I was planning to install one if this truck needed one. Any preference on what one to use?

Motorcraft. Don't f*** around with generic El Cheapo Parts Depot brand junk when it comes to sensors.
