Centering F1 Brake Shoes

I installed two Napa 4401455 front brake drums. One drum is rubbing against the backing plate on turns. I rechecked the assembly and all seems to be tight without any play. I removed .020 from the inside rim and reinstalled it. Haven't driven it yet to see if it is cured.

As I was re reading the shop manual I noticed I omitted the step for centering the brake shoes. This step requires inserting a feeler gauge through a slot in the drum, this slot is non exhistant on the Napa drums.

Q: is there another method for centering the shoes?
Q: anyone had a problem with drums rubbing?
Q: who makes OEM drums?

If the drum rubs the backing plate during turns, it sounds like loose bearings. As for centering the shoes, the springs are what do that.
