1950 Ford F1
Hey you guys
I am new to this site, I live in the UK and own a very nice original 1950 F1 with flathead V8. My problem is I do not have any emergency brake hardware in the rear drums. I have the usual shoes, cylinder springs etc for the footbrake but nothing to attach the emergency brake cables to?
I have tried to source this as a kit to no avail! Any ideas? Used parts will do, I assume I need the balance bar, and handbrake lever pivot assembly to attach cables to? Any help advice as to exactly which parts I need and where to buy them would be very much appreciated?
Many thanks
Pete

Mac's has a kit for the rebuild, but, as you said, the emergency brake parts are separate. That said, they have it all and each part is labeled as being for the emergency brake system.

Got it. NumberDummy or one of the guys may be able to post an exploded view of the rear backing plate.
I sent you an email. You can have the parts for the postage. Two complete sets of arms and hardware. I will take a picture when the sun comes up.
I have a good set of rear drums if you need them too?

Ok guys
On your breakdown on here, Ford Truck Brakes for 1948 thru 1955(typical for F1 and F100 Light duty)
I have uploaded diagram and highlighted what I THINK I need
Anyway I think the parts I need from that diagram are
1 of 2103 lever r.h
1 of 2104 lever l.h
2 of 2108 balance bar
2 of 2139 springs
2 of 2092 clip
2 of 2106 clip
I also need both cables right and left
I have found some of the items on Macs website but not all, certainly not the levers
Can anyone help?
Many thanks

Hi again
Yes in answer to Keiths question, yes I have the Y piece pivoting part attached to the cross member but there are no adjusters in them, just holes in each end. So I assume I need those to to fit and adjust the cables with? I am also baffled as to which pair of cables I need, there appear to be several types/lengths listed for the F1?
Again thanks in advance for all your help and advice
