Try this place. Prices seem pretty reasonable. Parts: Borg-Warner Overdrive Parts | Fifth Avenue Internet Garage

Not that you need it but I would highly suggest the pertronix ignition. It just replaces the points in the distributor and immediately made my truck run better(of course new points would have done the same things) but you never have to mess with it or check them. I got the pertronix ignitor 3 and their flamethrower coil. Just look into which distributor you have first, I first bought the one for a 55 then found out I have a distributor from a 57 and a 272. Looks like yours is actually a 239 so that is cool.

Thanks BJ!!! They only take phone orders, so I'll have to call tomorrow morning.

Jules - Yeah I was looking into that. In fact, I have it saved in my bookmark.

Also, my 55.
Thanks for the picture of your engine and great looking truck! The plan is when I do my IFS, I'll refresh the 239 and either go with chrome valve covers or spray them argent. Most likely the spray route.

Went on a little cruise Saturday...

Did you ever get your hood closing better? I found on mine just oiling all the link ends and the main pivot on the truck that is hard to see did the trick for mine.

Not yet Jules. Actually all 4 bolts are noticeably loose. Once I get an extra pair of hands I'll tighten them up.

That crossmember looks nice!

I would not wait on the hood bolts! Mine were stripped and loose, I never bothered to tighten them. One day when I closed the hood the bolt finally fell out and the lever swung up and dented the hood from the inside
I would maybe grease them and tighten them up. Then oil the truck side, I think there are 3 pivot points on the cab, the two lever arms, and the center pivot. I bet just that will get your hood closing good. Mine is all surface rusted and closes great now!

Thanks again Jules!

I haven't posted in awhile... Been busy with my bro's C10.

My bro's 1960 C10 with a 1964 full Porter Built frame.

Been collecting parts. Installed some new door strikers.

Shinny new door strikers and hardware.

With the help from my brother, we finally installed my Midfifty rear front spring hanger to even out the ride height.

Ride height is more level. No hot rod rake anymore.

Next is get my overdrive working properly. I have a brand new wire harness and 12V relay.

I gotta go with abe on this one not sure what the point of any lower than drivable is but not as baffelling as the trend for huge rims that do make it all but undriveable
