E40D build up

Hi all. I'm looking at getting my 97' E40D tranny rebuilt at my local shop, and I'm a little wary of their price. The shop name is Warren Diesel Shop out of Cochranton, PA: http://www.warrendieselshop.com/ I talked to the shop owner today, and he said that they have a standard combination of parts that they put into their transmissions that they rebuild (he mentioned something about Raybestos clutches and a billet torque converter). His quote was $2,500 for what he referred to as the "better than oem build", with the parts I mentioned, and $3700 for the "heavy towing build", but we didn't get into to details on that one. The price includes installation also, but based on this information, should I follow through with these guys, or buy a kit and have another shop do the rebuild? Any recommendations on a good rebuild kit?
