California Smog Not Ready

California Smog Not Ready
I have a 2005 6.0 (Excursion) that is showing the "misfire monitor" as not ready. This is a continuous monitor according to the smog tech, and it is
odd (to him at least) that this monitor will not report as ready.
After being told "just drive it more" and having no luck with that, I took my truck to my Diesel mechanic who double checked that there were no codes and then re-flashed the computer to the latest OEM tune- which I already had.
Still have exact same problem.
The truck is stock.
Two months and a thousand miles of driving and even trying to follow one of those "profiles" has not changed a thing.
Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by "profiles".
When your mechanic re-flashed your ECU it reset the "not ready" codes. I removed a tune from my 7.3 the day I took it in for smog and it hadn't been driven enough. The smog tech told me the ECU wasn't ready yet. So, depending on when your mechanic re-flashed your ECU, you may have done the opposite of what you wanted to do.
THIS is the link for putting the 6.0 through it's drive cycle and getting rid of the "not ready" codes (down the left hand side, 7 lines from the bottom, titled "On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Drive Cycle"). Good luck!!!
