Anyone done an install with these latches? Where did you mount the solinoid so it didn't interfere with the window?

Any pictures would be appreciated.

It may just be me but what do you mean when you say "door popper"? A door popper is an electromechanical device that "pops" the door open, usually on cars/trucks with shaved door handles. I am assuming that you are referring to a latch actuator device rather than a door popper. If so, the best place to mount the solenoid is in line with the lever on the latch, if that is not possible then use a cable system where you can mount the solenoid at an angle. If you are referring to a solenoid that is used as a remote lock/unlock device then you will need a push/pull linkage and not a cable.

I found an actuator and bent up the bar. Tested it out and it works pretty good. Not sure how it will perform in the long run but looks promising.

I have. The Trique Manufacturing folks will tell you that the latch setup is designed to use the mounting plate for the door. Since you have opted to modify your door without using the mounting plate, your latch assembly is now recessed into the door a bit. Rather than using washers on the striker pin, place spacers between the door jamb striker pin plate and the jamb to effectively move the striker pin closer to the door. Once you have found the proper distance needed to engage the latch then fabricate a spacer plate and install it in place of the washers.
I usually align mine up fairly snug, here is a pic of what the pin position looks like...

Even if I used it the way they designed it, it would still be short. By atleast 1/4.

I will add some length to the striker pin.

Thanks for reply.

All the hard work is done on mine, just needs final paint and assembly. Maybe I will get back to it in the summer after my current project is finished.

I ran into the same problem when installing them in this pickup I'm working on now. I installed them the way the instructions said as I'm not worried how it looks when the door is open. The changes I made were to eliminate that spacer plate and do away with the countersunk screws. I made my own outer plates and used button head screws instead, now they work without any problems. I also have the electrics to operate the locks but busy doing other stuff so the install isn't complete just yet

I also did some alterations to the lock mechanism to so it wouldn't interfere with the window channel but it's been awhile and would have to take them out of the door again to recall all that I did but do know I made some new pieces , the piece on the left is what I redid .
