I love her!!!
I love my 6.ohL. It helps having such a great forum, and great people on this forum who are so willing to help. Like a bunch of 6.oh brothers .
I owned a 2004 6.0h (SOLD), and now I have my 2006 6.oh. With the right information, and gauges you can be ahead of the game on maintenance, instead of being in the shop with repairs.

Our dealer said if they did it out of warranty, app. $1500 to $2,000. All four of mine were in warranty. Esp paid for itself in spades.

I've owned Fords, Chevies and Dodges: 7.3, durablast and 6.0, and gassers of all 3 plus a bunch of toyotas. Folks have touched on here but I'll say more: you need to know what to look for when buying a used 6.0 and check it out thoroughly (that can't be overstated), or it can be an expensive lesson.
Then when you do find the right one, plan to spend some dollars on preventative fixes, how far you go with this is up to you and what the truck needs right off the bat. The later 6.0s seem to have a bit better reputation/improvements and '05+ 4x4s had some nice chassis improvements.
I chose to do a "light" bulletproof to my truck and having most of the work done for me at CA shop rates, but buying most all my parts at good prices, I spent around $3k so I don't have to: fix-it-after-it-broke-on-the-side-of-the-road (there are two schools of thought you'll find here: don't fix what aint broke all the way to tear the thing half way apart and fix/improve everything you can proactively). Stuff I did is in my signature.
The horrible durablast experience was enough to make me hate all things GM including their weak management team... I have secretly owned for a few months now a 5.9 Cummins, but just to keep the negativity at a minimum: it is in a used diesel pusher motorhome. The guy I bought it from had just dumped $10K into the Turbo (VGT went out) and EGR systems -- so nobody has a perfect diesel out there.
I don't like the newer emissions so this will be my last diesel -- likely they will bury me in it

One very good reason for saving the fuel receipts. Then pull a sample if there is a problem.
Lastly making that your comprehensive insurance covers things like contaminated fuel.

To add to that, it's also a diesel you can work on yourself. The 6.4 and 6.7 are not easy trucks to work on and if they go boom and you don't have a warranty: $$$$$$

Bought my 04 in 2006 with 80k had a oil cooler and egr fail under warranty. Then around 115k the heads were likely blown and i was having trans problems.... but i did beat pretty hard on that truck.. bought it when fuel was high at like $17k booked for like 25 at the time. Traded it for 15k with 123k for my 06 which had 43k and was under warranty. Still miss my 04 but the 06 set me back about what studs and a built tranny was going to cost. Turned out to be a great deal. Truck has been pretty flawless. Put a ficm power board on last winter and swapped out batteries and alternators 2 times... im sure i killed the last batteries and alternator when the ficm took a dump. With the 06 ive had it tuned from nearly day one on a race tune. Ive pulled heavy when needed. Trecked around in the snow no matter how deep, played in the mud, gotten some groceries and hauled tons of kids around. Its kinda like having a tank, a sports car, a 70's 4 door lincoln and still be able to tow anything you want. As far as bulletproofing. I bought studs in 2007 welded up a stock egr cooler and put them in the tool box. Swapped the tool box to the 2006. They sat in the toolbox till 2013 when my step dad needed them since they were on back order at the time. I also gave him the egr cooler i had made. He returned a new box of studs and a new welded egr cooler that yet again sits in a toolbox waiting to be used. I think bulletproofing is a great idea when it comes time. If i was planning a build or had the engine tore down that far maybe but untill then ill run a hot race tune and wait. I have hough been eyeing a new 6.7 but at the price they want new or used ill probably keep on trucking in my 06. And if and when i get the 05 up and running i plan to have a second one to play around in
