Welcome. Great looking F-6. Looks like a Holmes bed, maybe a Model 440 judging by the twin boom. One of the things we suggest on the big trucks is to become familiar with, and respectful of, the two piece rims. If yours is like most others it will have the Firestone RH-5° variety, called widow makers, that few shops will touch anymore. A Google Images search of those terms will help you know what you have. Safer options do exist. Stu
What a special truck, how cool is that. Im glad you chose us to share it with. Which by the way is the best place on the net for these old ford trucks. Welcome to our group.
Thanks to all for the welcome My plans are to put it back to as original as possible. My dad bought the truck new and has been keep inside its whole life showing only 43000 miles I know about the widow makers change a few in my younger days, looking for a set of 22.5. The wrecker body is a Manley from York PA
Aired up those widow makers to tow it my garage front end has some rust but that it. The rest of the truck is very solid and the only change from original is dad switch it over to 12 volt.
