PCV hose reroute on 1988 e150/w 5.0

I have been reading that there was a TSB for I believe, 87 - 96 5.0's ad 5.8's and requires you to relocate the PCV hose that connects to the back of the upper intake manifold, to the center of the upper intake manifold.
I have also read that you can simply swap the brake booster vacuum hose connection with the PCV vacuum hose connection.
Has anyone done this? My 88 still has the PCV hose connecting on the back of the upper intake.

I need to replace the valve cover gaskets and am thinking I will probably take the upper intake manifold off and clean it and change all the old hoses under there along with cleaning the EGR valve.

Anything else I might want to do while I am in there?

Once that upper manifold comes off, it is very tempting to pull the lower and clean it all. I had to replace the lower on my '88 due to a broken thermostat housing bolt so while doing that, I replaced the injectors, removed the EGR tube and valve, and redid all the gaskets. The PVC port gets loaded with blowby sludge but once cleaned out it is good to go for another 104K probably.

If the valve cover gaskets are leaking, it is possible the lower manifold gaskets could be next and having to pull it all apart twice would be a pain.

Thankms for the pics,, I was wondering how the throttle cables came loose.. I thought I might have to try to loosen the bolts holding the bracket on.. I am not sure if I want to go into the lower intake just yet... I want to put a few more miles on her first and see if anything major develops... I do wnat to clean the PCV gunk out of the upper intake and change the valve covers.. The guy I bought the van from just did the left side but he didn't clean the valve cover and I am not user it's still not leaking.. Both sides show signs of leaking and I was able to snug the bolts down a little.. I have been driving it around without the doghouse on it and and there is a slight smell but no smoke.. I just changed the left exhaust manifold yesterday, was broken in half!

I have some kind of high pitched wheezing or wining noise I want to figure out. It's hard to describe.
Maybe a drip of something at the flywheel inspection plate.

But now my 85 is sitting waiting for me to finish installing the fuel tank and change the intake manifold... it has a carb so much easier!

One more thing Jimanddena,,, sometimes When letting off the gas I notice something that feels like an engine brake.. It is not downshifting but rather something the engine is doing to slow the van down a bit. Say you are going 45 mph and let off the gas and coasting down, shortly after it feels like an engine brake for maybe 5mph then releases to normal..
Anything like that on yours?
