7 of my pistons have an arrow indicating front, but the left bank front piston has a piston with a dimple. This engine has 32,ooo miles. Does this mean it has had a piston replaced , or were they using random parts. Thanks for any opinions.

Is the dimple facing forward? Do any of the pistons have any other markings, ie: oversize numbers such as .020, etc.? It's entirely possible one piston was replaced while the others were deemed good at some point in its life.

Dimple is facing the front of the engine same as the ones with the arrows. No other markings indicating std or otherwise. Thanks for the response.

That be number 1 cylinder in the firing order? if your facing motor from the front.

The dimple faces the front of the engine because the piston pins on 8BA's are offset in the piston. Worth checking to see if the oil squirt hole on that rod is facing the correct direction:
