Exhaust tip

OK, so I guess that ugly exhaust tip serves a purpose and cannot be changed. On a dark shadow grey metallic truck with black wheels, that galvanized pipe tip really bugs me. So, if I can't change it, can I use some high temperature flat paint and spray it black without angering the warranty gods? Has anyone else done this with good results? Thanks,,,,,,,

You can change the exhaust to an aftermarket system DPF back as long as it to has the ability to dissipate the heat.

You could paint the existing one, just don't plug the holes.

Install the polished stainless one from the platinum. I think they look good.

It's unpolished stainless steel as far as I'm aware... You could always spend some time to polish it up!

2015+ has an extra sensor in that pipe right above the rear axle... You'd need a pipe specifically made for those years or be prepared to modify it..

I thought 6" tips only fit Ram exhaust!! Any way, not trying to change pipes or anything like that, I think I am just going to get some flat black BBQ hi temp paint and see how it goes.

On mine the inside is not polished and the outside is polished to a chrome like finish.

8 inch is the smallest you can go on the cumminapart. You mentioned not being able to change it before, but it is possible is all. Good luck with the paint

i have a platinum and i did a complete emissions delete but i personally like the stock tip and kept it. Looks way better than the tards that put 12" stacks in the box or 8-10" tips on the normal exhaust location in my opinion. Theres really no good reason to go over 4" unless youre going to push over 600 horse. Plus it has the added benefit of looking stock other than the black soot covering the inside of it which the average gung ho super cop looking for deleted trucks to ticket wouldnt even notice unless they looked at it very closely, haha!

Make sure you get the 1000+ degree paint since the temps coming out of the dpf are in the 1200 range.
