2016 F350 MPG Poor
#16
Drove home 500 miles and got the same 10mpg nearly the entire way. The last hour or so it ticked up to 11.3.(by comparison only time I got 10mpg in the '12 was pulling our 38' fifth wheel that is 13000 pounds empty)
Been driving around locally with a fair amount of highway in between now getting less than 14
Truck has 1400 miles on it. No more brake smell.
Beginning to wonder if it will change? And did ford do something different with the 16 model year that's causing this?

Spoke to dealer service dept. this morning. He told me they wouldn't even entertain looking at it due to fuel mileage since it wasn't required to have any economy ratings. The only thing he could offer me was it "may take ten thousand miles to break in" and that he would suggest putting the centaine additive in each tank.......

Exactly. That sounds like a dealer that wouldn't ever get my business again! I'd just tell them you think the breaks are hanging because you are smelling something and the mileage is crappy. If they don't take a look at it then take it another dealer that actually cares about the customer after the sale. I drive 2 hrs away to my preferred dealer for a reason.

Ford posted a bulletin to dealers a while back to not address fuel economy for Super Duty trucks (regardless of engine). It's absolutely true that there are no fuel economy ratings for these trucks, and Ford does not provide ratings for dealers to use for testing, so dealers do not have a standard to go on.
If anything, that was a very honest dealer.

Just want to mention that my early mileage was horrible until I found my hubs were locked. Apparently they are locked for shipping at the factory and the dealer did not check them. Mileage bumped up 1-2mpg after the unlock. Not great, but better than before. Picked up 2 more mpg after break in.

Hey everyone. I also have a 2016 F350 CC SWB 4x4 6.7 w/ 3.55 gears. It is a month old and now has about 2400 miles on the clock. Mileage was screwy and unpredictable until the last 3-400 miles. Solo it was getting 11-13 mpg, and then connected to a small 10' utility trailer, it was getting 17-18....go figure. Now,...if I drive like grandma, (who wants to do that with $2 diesel?) then it will get 20 +/- on the road, and 14/15 around town. Recently Pulled first significant tow when bringing my 34' fiver (13,500 lbs) home from deer lease, and managed to get 13-14 mpg which I was happy with.
I did have a 2011 F250, 2 wd with 3.31 gears that would get 22/23 hwy and 16/17 city which was great. Had the '11 been 4x4, I would have kept it, however I do like the CC w/leather seats and a few other niceties.

I'd bring the burning odor to the attention of the dealership. Is your truck a 2016 as well? Let me know; I'll do what I can to assist.
