Strange Codes...

Evening all. I ran a KOER test on the 302 I recently installed in the truck and got some strange codes, some of which are because I botched the power steering & throttle tests, but I can't make heads or tails of the others. Here they are...

40(?), 10(?), 44(thermactor inoperative), 60(?), 77(user error), 208(?), 33(EGR not opening), 77(user error), 52(power steering switch open)

I know 10 is usually a place holder that I've seen before on the other system. Can anyone shed some light on the mystery codes?

Thanks!

Did you run the truck to full operating temp before running the test?

Yes - I got it up to full temp before running the test.

I'm a little bit concerned about the ECM. The last time I started getting odd codes on an EEC-IV system the ECM was going bad on me...

I believe the user error code can be from not blipping the throttle at the correct moment to test the MAP sensor...

But considering that there are NO codes that should end in zero, AND your are getting both two and three digit codes... ECM? You might try one of those code readers to eliminate human error from counting flashes.

plus, you could pull the ecm and just check the capacitors. Would only cost you time.

Since those were taken with a dedicated code reader it looks like checking the capacitors is definitely on the to-do list this weekend.

There is no way you will get two AND three digit codes. It's one OR the other. Something is seriously wrong if a code reader displayed both.
