Making a contractor model look better

I have a 2014 XL, 101A stripped down truck. What have folks done to upgrade the looks of their low level and low optioned trucks? I'm thinking of a chrome grill, but have not thought of much else yet.

Thanks.

Here are some upgrades another XL owner did: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...eed-ideas.html

I bought the low-optioned 201A because I'm not into much chrome (or any chrome really) but that's personal preference and to each his own.

Thanks for sharing that. I've thought of painting the plastic, as the truck is white and the contrast is huge right now. There are wheels all over Craigslist that would also be a nice upgrade.

I see nothing at all wrong with a the XL 101A trucks, they are beautiful and functional. However, here's some ideas:

Keep the steel wheels and get full wheel chrome covers. I love the look.
Slightly tint the windows, legally of course.
Bed liner
Wheel well liners
Chrome overlays for the door handles, mirror skulls
Paint the front fascia to match the truck
Pin stripe if you're into that.

As for the interior, there's plenty of ways to dress it up.

Cover the rubber floor mats with weathertech liners or equivalent.
Steering wheel cover, wheels skins comes to mind.
Seat cover
Dash cover

These are great trucks, simple and reliable.

A nice set of tubular steps for the cab, maybe even some that extend to the front of the rear wheel well. Painted or stainless steel.

I agree with Big Tim, tint the windows. Have you done any upgrades yet? Post a pic so we can see what we are working with here

So far I have done the following:

Leveling kit, black tool box, tint, mud flaps, steps, weather tech floor mats. It'll get tires soon, and the steelies are growing on me, though I may consider the wheel offer at some point. Thanks for the suggestions!
