It's got the new for 1952 OHV 279 "Cargo King" V8. The F-8 version was a 317. Lots of torque, but not the cheapest I'd guess to rebuild. Chuck will know whether a later engine will adapt to your transmission, or whether it makes more sense to keep it stock. Stu
I think the lady told me it had the 317 in it. If it's got enough power to handle a load of corn I will keep it original. I am excited to have it, my dad's first truck was a 51 F1 and we have been restoring one off and on for 15 years and always talked of wanting a larger one for the farm. Well I turned 31 in October and hopefully will be taking over the farm come spring so this will be his cruiser to the elevator and back (Can't let the semis have all the fun)
So many that saw farm duty put in long days in the spring and fall, then rested in the shed the other months. That'll be a fitting retirement for the F-7. Stu
