Body swap

I have a late year 1977 ford f250 4x4 single cab 8ft bed. It has a good bit of rust throughout the entire truck so rather than patching every spot, I was thinking of doing a body swap with truck bed also.
* Now I would really like to have the extended cab version with the 6ft bed but I don't know if my frame is compatible.
* Next question is, will a single cab 8ft bed f150 body and bed bolt right up onto my f250 frame? If so what years are compatible? The same question for the extended cab version?
can someone point me in the right direction.

thanks in advance

Both swaps have been done before.

I assume by "late year" you have a non-Highboy truck. If so, you have the regular frame spacing and an f150 reg. cab, long bed body will bolt up.

A Supercab/shortbed body swap is more involved, since Ford never offered that configuration in 4x4, the 2wd variants had a 139" wheelbase. So you'll either be cutting down the bed or stretching wheelbase.

Sorry yes. "late year" meaning non highboy. So any non highboy regular cab long bed f150 2wd or 4wd between 73 to 79 will bolt right up?

So the supercabs will bolt up? just gonna have to modify the bed right

just late 77,78 and 79 will bolt up directly, to your truck ,other years will have to be custom fit.

Yes, only difference is some 2wd automatic trucks had lower transmission humps, may interfere with yours transmission slightly, but its an easy fix. You just cut the hump out and install the cover from a high-hump truck. My '79 was originally a low-hump, I have a 4 speed in it now.

No, cab mounts are different as well.
