Forced Air Induction

Forced Air Induction
Got a question guys, I've been reading up alot lately about my K&N FIPK kit. I've been reading that they serve little purpose for power because they suck in hot air from the engine compartment.
Many people have said Ram Air or Forced Air Induction is much better than a Hot Air Intake.
This is where I'm stuck though. I've been searching the internet a Ram Air kit for my F150 but no real luck unless im willing to pay over $800 for a new hood, which I'm not.
The only thing I have found that looks good and reliable is the Johnny Lightning Forced Air Induction Kit Stage 2. It's in the price range that I'm lookin for but I mean come on!
It looks like a brake duct with a hose connected to it and shell to cover the intake.
I'm wonderin if I can make one of those myself.
It says you can get up to 35 horses.
The only problem is that it's made for Lightning's, but can it still fit my 4.6L?
Any guys have experience with one of these systems and are they worth it?
Thanks,
Chris
P.S.
Anyone interested in a K&N FIPK kit.

Personally I think the FIPK is an absolute waste of money. You can acheive close to if not the same power increase the FIPK gives just by replacing the stock restrictive filter with the high-flow K&N. I could not justify spending roughly $200 on a piece of plastic tube couple of clamps and hose pieces with a $50 filter. As far as the Johnny kit goes it should fit just fine on the 4.6 with the exception of the under the hood pieces which you more than likely could modify.
