Feeling lazy today

I want to buy a differential cover gasket for the F6 (Eaton 1350) instead of making one. Those axles were in almost everything up into the '60's, yet I can't find one anywhere. About 15" OD with twelve equi-distant 1/2" bolts.
Any leads greatly appreciated.

Clean it well, use the right RTV correctly and forget about the gasket. BTW, gaskets that size are easy. But,,,,,,,you knew that.

I put cover on a Dana 44 with only RTV, and had a hell of a time getting it off a year later. I could barely get a scraper or chisel in between the cover and diff, when I did I about ruined the cover trying to get it broken free. It didn't leak tho!

Is this the gasket you need?

If you have ever heard of skin wedges, they make the rtv separation go a lot smoother.
Skin Wedge - 3 Piece Set

The yard store is candy land for any kind of riveting or structural work, mostly aluminum though

Those wedges would have been just the ticket for a German car I own, where they glue the fenders on!

I couldn't find any dimensions for that gasket but I think it's too small. Looks right though.

Thanks.

Thanks, I'll try the RTV thing (I've done that on carburetors successfully). Yeah, I can make round gaskets up to about 3' in diameter, got the punches up to 1", but that means I'd have to dig out the kit, and it's buried. At least I know where it is.

Haven't purchased a diff cover gasket for 30 years, and that includes a lot of years in a professional shop. RTV will seal like a champ as long as the surface is clean and oil free. Worked for me about 100 times in a row.
