Harland Sharpe roller rockers

im building a 7.3 IDI with Harland Sharpe roller rockers.

im curious to know if 1 of the 4 other people that has these,
resides on this site.

im looking for personal preference on their valve lash setting.

running a torque cam with conventional hyd roller set up.

also looking for personal experience of pushrod length.

thanks.

heres a taste of what the engine will look like.

Here is Robert's thread. I haven't seen him on here in a while. You might have an easier time getting ahold of him on the Ford IDI Owners Facebook page. I have seen him on there a little bit.

Btw that engine looks like it'll be awesome! What are you running for fuel and your turbo setup?

Your welcome. And I'll check out your build further. I do remember seeing it before now that you posted the link.

Also I kind of spaced it, but you shouldn't have to set valve lash due to our lifters being hydraulic.

Robert said the stock push rods were too long though... post #88 of his build has a video of his custom push rods:

That is correct. He did get aftermarket push rods. I'm not sure how long they were though.

Depends on which cam roberts was running. The torque cam is nearly stock and should be fine. It has been ran plenty of times never needing different push rods. AFAIK the only one that needed new push rods was the J2 cam

I talked to Robert today. He did need new push rods with the HS roller rockers as well. He is running the R&D Stage 1.

Hey all

This is correct. the machine shop ordered custom pushrods. I will have to talk with Steve about the details It's only been two years

The Push Rods came from Smith Brothers and were custom made to order based on the machine shop requirements and spring pressure.

Hey All

I talked with Steve at the machine shop and he said we sent the rockers back to HS several times for changes we needed on the rocker profile. These changes requires longer push rods. A lot had to do with the fit on the valve cover and rocker arm pedestal that we used.

I am not sure if that had anything to do with sending them back to HS. your looks different than mine, or it could just be the angle of the picture. Here are a couple pictures of mine
