Brake Dust on Front Wheels

I have a 2016 F350 4x4 that has brake dust on the front wheels after only 3000 miles. I have tried to find ceramic pads to replace the semi-metalic pads that are causing the issue. There is no listing for replacement pads that I can find. My question is will 2015 pads fit the 2016? Does anyone have the actual part numbers to see if they are the same. This is just one of the problems with having an early build vehicle. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Unless you are hung up on aesthetics, this is not a problem, it's simply a by product of the brakes stopping the truck. I'm on my second Super Duty and both have made dust. There may be some aftermarket options available, but for the the money the motorcraft pads are best for me.

Auto Zone has ceramics for the 2015 for $103 per set lifetime warranty. Since there's a 2017 model change bet they'll fit the 2016. If not you can take them back. IIRC they are made by TRW.

Sounds like someone is hard on the brakes.

Ceramic pads will (many times) damage wheels that are plated or coated... They actually are harder than the iron in the rotors so the rotors shed material - sometimes RED HOT material... Ceramic pads ruined the front wheels on my wife's last car (chromed aluminum) and my last truck (coated aluminum)...
For what it's worth, I will happily wash away a little brake dust every now and again...

I've installed ceramics on two late model vehicles and had zero problems.

Might I suggest using your exhaust brake more, even when not towing. It should help take some load off the brakes.

Mine show that dust in as little as a tank of fuel and I'm easy on the brakes.
Just wash it off.

For what its worth... this is my second 6.7 with the first being a 2011 that had 94K miles when traded. I had ceramic pads on that truck and had no problems what so ever. I need to find out from somebody if the part numbers for 2015 and 2016 are the same as there is no aftermarket listing for the 2016 as of yet

Wax your wheels and the brake dust won't stick as badly and it will come off easily.

I have brake dust on ours. Took in to dealership. Said it was normal. Just wash front wheels more often with lots of soap. Works good.
