I got a Stiffy!!!

Okay guys, been a while since I posted, but I finally decided to post a question:

Why is my truck SOOO stiff?!

I mean it is ridiculous how stiff it is, I have owned a F-350 and a previous F-250 and it wasnt ever as stiff as this truck.
If I hit multiple bumps around a corner in the road, my truck will begin to shimmy out of the corner sometimes cause it is so stiff on the suspension, what gives?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Or any questions that you all have that I need to answer to get a better understanding of why?.

Thanks - P

Is the guy in your signature drinking Capt. Morgans Spiced Rum and he's showing us a little Captain?

Leveling kit the cup type, you have the coil fronts? What pressure you running the tires at? Got a sway bar?

1. I have sway bars
2. I am running 57psi in my tires
3. running 20 psi in my bags at all times
4. I have front coils springs

In regards to the cups I decided to take a couple pictures of the front suspension. Tell me what you think .

The top on the coil spring where it meets what looks like a "cup" is stock though, not aftermarket. And honestly, after looking at the types of leveling kits out there I cant see where one was installed, unless a taller coil spring was installed on my truck.

Oh yeah, and that's me in that photo shoot, doing a little K.I.S.S. action with the tongue out, and some Captain Morgans with the stance!

could be wrong/bad shocks or the tires.

My truck did that so I replaced the shocks, the next time I went over the bumps that caused the shimmy it didn't do it. Are those the original shocks on your truck? I am on my second set of Monroe Reflex shocks and I really like how they ride however I don't go off road very often, maybe a dirt road here and there and they seem just fine.

Mine rides real stiff with anything more than about 8psi in the airbags without a load. I know that prob wont affect the front but there is a very distinct difference if i put 20psi in it.

What is the min pressure for the bags? I have a 250, with poly sway bar bushings and a helwig rear sway bar, run 80 psi and rancho xl9000 shocks. If I turn up the shocks to 9 they will ride like you describe. If I were you I would start with shocks.

I was told the min for mine is 4psi and max of 65 (I think). I usually keep them around 6 -8 unless I'm towing my toy hauler. Then I'll put somewhere around 50 in it. If i were to ride with anything more than 25 without hauling something, it'll shake the fillings out of my teeth. Its a little rough with anything more than around 8 though.

Keep 5psi in the air bags and the ride will be a lot better

I don't understand how my rear bags are affecting my front suspension. Especially when I have had this problem since I owned the truck when purchased in April of 2015 and I have only just recently been keeping the bags at 20 psi. So whether or not the bags are inflated it still does it. Also, when shocks are worn or getting worn I was under the impression that they compress more, hence riding like a caddy. Not get stiffer. I am at a loss. I am not dismissing what you guys are suggesting. Just doesn't seem to make since. I don't know how.old those.shpcks are since I have only had this truck since April.

I run around 65 psi and there a couple of places on the highway in Belgium where I just know the truck is going to twitch sideways, and it's not nice, always wake up when it happens

Putting at least a 1/2 ton in the bed calms it down though

Maybe the front springs are the heavier snow plow springs? Would they cause front end to sit higher?

Could be a combination of bags and shocks in the front. I wasnt saying that the bags are the source. Just saying that mine affect the ride for me. Hope you get her sorted out.

Have you checked the shocks to see if one is frozen up?
